Cartoonist, Illustrator, Storyteller, Author, Performer


J.D. is a Professional Commercial Artist and Performing Cartoonist who draws cartoon portraits, aka ‘caricature’s, of people at parties and events. He also entertains at many programs with his Cartoon Fun Show and Draw Along Storytelling, audience participation, jokes, and games. J.D. creates Original Tall Tale Stories. He wrote them down for a PBS project and became a published author. He promotes reading and character at schools, libraries, civic groups and churches.

Inside his studio, J.D. draws cartoons and illustrations from pictures that people will email him. He also creates advertising, company characters, logos, and graphic designs.

J.D. Williamson is also an illustrator of 6 local authors’ books for children and draws realistically, as well as in a cartoon style.                                                                                                                                                 

 J.D. graduated from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky with a BA in Fine Arts and a Graphic Arts. He earned his entire tuition through the school's work program and in the local community as a commercial artist for hire. He began his own freelance art business right out of school.
